As a strong and trusted brand leader in the market, the company seeks to recruit a Business Analyst/Project Manager for a 6 months contract in their Nairobi office. .The overall purpose of the role is to:To work with the Business Systems Manager to ensure successful implementation of business solution transformation programmes.
Minimum RequirementsGraduate in information systems or related disciplineAt least 3 years experience in business systems project related assignmentsUnderstands application programming, database and system designUnderstands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architecturesSQL / Oracle database administrationUnderstanding of the working of Unix/Linux and windows operating systems.Job Specification- Business AnalystLiaising with users of systems to identify changes that are necessary for the systems to continue supporting the business strategy. Providing robust analysis and critique to the identified changes before documenting them into formal systems requirement specifications that can be used to design, develop (acquire) and implement an appropriate solution that will address the intended business need while factoring seamless integration with existing solutions for the overall fit. Ensures clear communication of required changes and solutions proposed to stakeholders.Apply best practices and standards in solution design and project executions for consistent delivery of quality solutions within the defined scope, budget and time.Training users and other team members on new information system solutions.Ensures that solutions developed are properly tested by developing comprehensive test plans.Must be able to run a project from initiation to closure and provide relevant documentation for entire project implementation processEnsures that problems (issues) identified during implementations are reported, tracked, and resolved in a timely and appropriate manner.Working with the other business analysts to implement and maintain enterprise-wide data warehouse solution for consolidated corporate reporting and analytics.Carrying out any other duty that may be assigned by management CompetenciesGood communication skillsAnalytical skillsKnowledge in emerging industry practicesProactive in seeking solutions to problems and identifying opportunitiesWide understanding of the insurance business processesSelf-driven individual with the discipline to deliver within agreed guidelinesKnowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX will be an added advantage.If you are qualified and up to the challenge visit www.altimaafrica.com/careers.php and apply online by 5pm, 31st May 2013Please note that only qualified candidates will be contacted.
